The Developer Desk

Licence terms

These terms apply to every tool you buy from The Developer Desk. A summary also appears on the Licence tab of every workbook.

1. What you're buying

Each tool is an Excel workbook with a PDF user guide. It is licensed, not sold, to the company named on its Licence tab, for use in that company's own business. The licence does not end: tools you buy are yours to keep.

2. Who can use it

Each purchase is for one user at the licensed company. If you need the tools for more people, talk to us at hello@thedeveloperdesk.co.uk.

3. What you can do

Use the tools on as many of your own sites as you like, and share their outputs (printouts, PDFs and figures) with funders, landowners, partners and advisers.

4. What you can't do

Copy, forward, resell, publish or give the workbooks or their templates to anyone outside your company; remove or change the licence details, branding or copyright notices; or use the tools to build a competing product.

5. Updates

A full desk and The Full Desk include 12 months of updates, new tools added to the desk and the monthly Q&A call. After that, the optional updates plan costs £395 a year for one desk or £1,190 a year for all six. You can stop the plan at any time and keep the version you have. Updates are sent only to the licensed company.

6. Payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page and exclude VAT. When you send an order we email an invoice, payable in full by bank transfer within 14 days. We send your tools once payment arrives. We don't offer instalments or credit.

7. Your responsibility for results

The tools support, and don't replace, professional judgement. Results depend entirely on your inputs and are not valuation, engineering, financial or legal advice. Check every input against your own evidence before relying on a result.

8. Liability

The tools are provided as they are. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the tool concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ownership

Copyright in the workbooks, their structure, design and guidance belongs to The Developer Desk Ltd.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
